La Cúpula Cultural Center is a bilingual (Spanish/English) multidisciplinary art center focused on international exchanges.
Inside the large, lavender complex are even exhibition rooms, a video room, a large garden with space for shows, a production workshop and two residences for artists. The building originally had a stable for the Palacio Cantón, and under the distinctive dome was an exercise area for horses.
La Cúpula currently works with different entities, both public and private:
the Ministry of Culture and the Arts of the State of Yucatán
the International Festival of Lights of Mexico
the Merida International Brass Festival
the Tomoko Mukaiyama Foundation, The Netherlands
The Japan Foundation in Mexico
the Alliance Francesa de Mérida
the Regional Contemporary Art Fund of Pays de la Loire, France
