Eager to get to Phase 2 of its expansion, the Merida English Library‘s most important fundraiser of the year is coming up next week.
Organizers have sweetened the pot at next Tuesday’s Silent Auction and are eager to meet a goal of selling 33 percent more tickets this year.
Proceeds will add two classrooms, a cafe and three additional bathrooms at the Centro library, which is expanding not just its space, but its scope, with lectures, yoga and events aimed at children and teenagers.
Tickets are 300 pesos, and available at the library. The event begins 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at a location that will be disclosed to ticket holders.
Bidders will have a chance to get good deals on a variety of items and services.
