Mérida, Yucatán — The star behind the summer hit “Despacito” will make a stop here in October, and the best tickets are going for a pretty peso.

Puerto Rico’s top pop star Luis Fonsi will perform Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Coliseo Yucatán. The cheapest seats are $504 MX. General ticket sales begin today.

VIP tickets — for orchestra seats nearest the stage — are $2,010 MX, with Platinum seats a little less, at $1,907, for the more budget conscious.

Fonsi is stopping at 10 cities across Mexico, including Cancun, Querétaro, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City.

It’s been a big year for Fonsi, 39, whose January music video of  “Despacito,” or “Slowly” in English, was the first to reach 3 billion views on YouTube.

And it earned this parody from “Sesame Street.” That’s the mark of a really big hit.

The reggaeton-pop track topped the charts in 45 countries, and a remix featuring Justin Bieber became the first song sung mostly in Spanish to top the Billboard Hot 100 since the Bayside Boys Mix song “Macarena” in 1996.

This is at least the recording artist’s second trip to the state. In 2016, Fonsi recorded scenes for his video, “Wave Your Flag,” in Valladolid.

Fonsi is also an ambassador for tourism in Puerto Rico, it was announced earlier this month; “Despacito” will be employed in a new global campaign to attract visitors to the island.

“We will unveil the land of ‘Despacito,'” said Jose Izquierdo, executive director of the Puerto Rican Tourism Company. “The song has become an iconic piece where the main character is Puerto Rico, its culture, its music and its dance.”
