In a month, the city will begin its celebration as the Cultural Capital of the Americas. The lineup is starting to unfold.
Attendance has exceeded expectations at the various “Mérida, American Capital of Culture” offerings. For the Festival de las Luces alone, 150,000 visitors followed the lights.
The Recycled Percussion band, which has been a Las Vegas mainstay for seven years, will play three concerts in Mérida under the American Capital of Culture program.
Organizers are back-loading the festival with some of the most-anticipated events, such as the concert by Argentinean singer Fito Páez in December.
A full-size replica of the world’s greatest art and tourist attractions – the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City – will be here Nov. 6 – 19.
