Cancun, Quintana Roo — The Leones got back at the Tigres on Tuesday, trouncing the team that ended their nine-game winning streak before shutting them out on Sunday.

Yucatan played longball in the series opener, hitting three home runs to defeat Cancun 6-1 at Beto Avila Stadium.

The game started hot when Jonathan Jones opened with a homer through left field. Two innings later, Art Charles followed suit with a three-run home run.

The Tigres cut into the deficit in the fourth inning when Reynaldo Rodriguez hit a solo home run.

But in the next inning, Liddi homered with a solo shot, and later still scored two with two hits.

Starter Jose Samayoa (7-3) allowed just three hits and one run, and struck out six over as many innings.

Jorge Castillo (9-8) went 4 1/3 innings, allowing five runs and eight hits while striking out four and walking one.
