United Airlines announced Tuesday that a new nonstop route will connect San Antonio International Airport to Cancun.

The seasonal route begins June 8 with no specific end date on the calendar.

United’s newest nonstop takes off from San Antonio on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:05 a.m., landing at 11:35 am. Return flights leave the resort city on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:35 p.m,, landing back in Alamo City at 3:20 p.m.

The San Antonio to Cancun route is part of United’s expansion of nonstop service across the U.S.

“Today we are offering our customers more destinations than ever before, both here in the United States and overseas,” said Patrick Quayle, a United vice president, in a press release.

Along with San Antonio, two other Texas cities extended their reach abroad. Austin also received nonstop service to Cancun, while Houston landed direct flights to St. Thomas and Turks and Caicos.

As of press time, fares for United’s newest nonstop were priced at $464 round trip.
