With a ribbon cutting at Plaza Izamal at 7 p.m.., the Yucatán Feria Xmatkuil 2014 opens today, marking 40 years of large-scale entertainment for the whole family. And there’s a high-tech twist to this year’s state fair.
Over a thousand musical, cultural and recreational events are on tap through Nov. 30. A Las Vegas-style magic show, circus acts, and exhibitions of livestock, birds of prey, butterflies and snakes are on the bill. A roller coaster and ferris wheel is ready for action, as well. An equestrian tournament is planned tomorrow.
Admission is 15 pesos, with parking for 30 pesos.
And to help visitors keep track with over 1,000 musical, cultural and recreational events, there is a free is free app. The app is available for both iOS or Android platforms.
Among the concerts offered are Carlos Rivera, Los Angeles Azules, La Sonora de Margarita, Pandora Group and Julion Alvarez.
