Merida has been chosen as host the Annual Congress of Meeting Professionals International next year, El Diario reports.
Another international event in Merida will be the 17th meeting global Microcredit Summit in September, which will bring to Merida 1,500 specialists in economics, the Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus and queen Sofia of Spain and Maxima of the Netherlands.
Ancona Salazar, who was interviewed in the presentation of the tourism program Descubre14, or Discover14, said that they are currently preparing for “Warrior Dash,” an extreme international obstacle-course competition that has added Valladolid to its roster.
The event, as we reported, is scheduled to close on 13 September and the head of state thinks Tourism attending 800 to 1,000 competitors in this extreme sport. Counting family and friends, around 3,000 people will be headed to Valladolid for the three-day event.
He said that this extreme triathlon competition events will be permanent in Yucatan as a way to generate significant economic benefit through tourism entertainment.
