The Centro will be electric with excitement on Sunday when hundreds of ticket-holders get a glimpse inside some of the historic district’s most beautiful homes.
The Merida Showcase of Homes is one of Fundacion BAI’s biggest fundraisers, crucial to helping the nonprofit fulfill its mission of providing HIV/AIDS education and testing, and preventing teen pregnancies in Yucatan.
This is the 11th edition of the Merida Showcase of Homes, and six residents have opened their private homes to the self-guided walking tour. (Here is a wrap-up of last year’s Showcase.)
The Showcase is helpful to expats who want decorating and design ideas to take back to their own Centro homes. It is also popular with design and architecture students.
Tickets (600 pesos) for the self-guided tour can be purchased by calling 999-292-8436 or in person at:
- Bollicine, Paseo de Montejo x 45
- Hennessy’s Irish Pub, Paseo de Montejo x 43
- La Negrita Cantina, Calle 62 x 49, Centro
- El Templo, Calle 59 x 50, Centro
- Robert Abuda Salón, Paseo de Montejo x 39
- Kate Miasik Hair Salón, Calle 27 x 12 y 14 Col. México
Ticket holders are given a map and wristband or badge, and have from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10 to tour the featured homes, which are within walking distance of each other, although since the advent of Uber, some people find other ways to get from place to place.
Yucatan Magazine is a proud Gold Sponsor of the Showcase of Homes.
