Search ends in PV for missing Canadian tourist

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco — The family of a missing tourist has ended their search for Gloria Anne Miller, wife of a trucking magnate in British Columbia, last seen diving in Banderas Bay on the morning of Feb. 15.

On social media, husband David Chambers announced Monday evening: “The search for G has ended.”

However, Canadian consular officials and Mexican authorities in Puerto Vallarta are continuing the search.

“Consular officials are providing assistance to the family in Canada and Mexico during this difficult time,” Global Affairs Canada spokesperson Philip Hannan said Tuesday. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends anxiously awaiting news.”

Canadian consular officials are in contact with local authorities in Puerto Vallarta. Due to provisions of the Privacy Act, no further information was disclosed.

Gloria Miller and her son obtained their diving certifications in Vernon, B.C., before traveling to Puerto Vallarta. The pair were participating in their their first dive at Los Arcos, a popular snorkel and dive location in the Banderas Bay.
