In his tenth presidential visit to Yucatán, Enrique Peña Nieto today will travel to Maxcanú to sign a three-part agreement to strengthen the development of Yucatecan Mayan communities.

After attending a ceremony at a Cancun airport’s newly expanded Terminal 3, the president arrived Monday in Mérida’s military air base just after 7.  From there, he was swept away in a convoy of trucks to the Hyatt Regency, where he spent the night.

The Indigenous Heritage MX Foundation, whose honorary president is singer Miguel Bosé, also confirmed the participation of the artist through an invitation to the event, to be held at noon today at La Casa del Niño Indian Cecilio Chi.

The philanthropic project, with private-sector-support from Coca-Cola, HSBC and other corporations, includes the completion of three projects: the installation of a bakery, a workshop devoted to producing hammocks and a purified water plant.
