Motul, Yucatan — In a large counter-narcotics operation with heavily armed personnel, a private home was searched in the San Roque neighborhood. Two suspects accused of drug trafficking were arrested.

Police seized from 25 to 30 weapons, including shotguns and squad-type pistols, as well as more than five kilograms of drugs, between marijuana and cocaine.

The raid occurred on Calle 47, between 48 and 50, in the home of Glenda Yajaira Alcala Can, alias “Chela,” Megamedia reported.

Police arrived at the house around 4 p.m. Monday and conducted the search with police dogs.

State and federal police blocked off access to the entire block during the search and arrest. They secured the property for four hours.

According to unofficial reports, two suspects were arrested: “Chela” and her partner, “Pony” or “Loco.” A third suspect is said to be at large.
