A motorcycle trip from Mérida, Yucatan to Tierra del Fuego in Argentina, a place known as the “end of the world,” has concluded happily with a welcome-home reception thrown by fellow motorcyclists.

The trip by Alejandro Mier y Teran, 51, lasted four months and was documented on a Facebook page with a name that translates as Road Adventure. Over 1,500 people followed Mier y Teran via social media.

“We stumbled upon an incredible amount of beautiful, stunning scenery,” the intrepid traveler told Diario de Yucatán.

The journey started Nov. 5 and ended on March 13, when motorcyclists in Yucatán hosted a welcome-home reception.

Mier y Teran is founding partner, chairman of the board and executive director of MayaSolar.
