Targeting business travelers, the Mexico City-based airline Aeromar has initiated Monday-to-Saturday flights between Mérida and Villahermosa.
The new flight, which begins Friday, will leave Mérida at 6:45 a.m. to reach Villahermosa at 8:15 a.m. The route back, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, leaves the Tabasco capital at 6 p.m., arriving in Mérida an hour later.
To strengthen the air connectivity in southeast Mexico, business executives and government officials held a meeting to establish more strategies to boost economic activity.
Aeromar has been seeking an increase in trade and multimodal transportation, promoting economic activity in Yucatán, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Tabasco, Veracruz, Chiapas and Oaxaca. The airline operates under a codeshare agreement with United Airlines and Aeroméxico.
