Merida, Yucatan — After an exhausting pair of hard-win series against two Northern Division rivals, the Leones return to Kukulcan Alamo Park today to face the Rieleros de Aguascalientes.
For the next three days, the Leones have a special “Subscriber Series” offer for fans with a Rugiabono season pass, plus two-for-one offers, “Ladies Night” on Wednesday and children admitted for free.
The Leones are at the top of the South Division thanks to tight pitching combined with strong batters in the lineup, particularly Leo Heras, Jonathan Jones, Luis Juárez and Alex Liddi.
Yoanner Negrin and Cesar Valdez are considered two of the best pitchers in the entire Mexican Baseball League.
Rivals Aguascalientes and Durango will seek revenge after losing their respective series to Yucatan last week.
For its part, Aguascalientes has a powerful batting lineup headed by Saul Soto, Michael Wing, Richy Pedroza, Marc Flores and Carlos Rodriguez.
For Tuesday, the opening match will be between Bennett Parry (0-0, 9.45 ERA) and Miguel Peña (1-5, 8.15 ERA). On Wednesday, José Valdez (2-1, 6.64 ERA) will take the stage to face star Yoanner Negrín (7-3, 2.62 ERA). The final clash will be pitched by Rolando Valdez (1-3, 8.14 ERA) and Cesar Valdez (9-1, 2.69 ERA).
