Mérida, Yucatán — More than 100 children and adolescents from Yucatán test their knowledge today at the Third Regional Robotics Fair.

Organized by the Ministry of Communications and Transportation through the Punto México Conectado network, the event is carried out simultaneously in 32 spots across the country.

According to the organizers, this is the most important event of its kind in Mexico and the largest in Latin America.

The competition invites kids at the beginning, intermediate and advanced level. They will be challenged to program and control a prototype robot, guided by a Punto México advisor.

Nationwide, 3,600 people are registered, and 288 of them will earn an all-expense-paid trip to Mexico City. There, they will join the RobotiX Faire 2017 on June 3 and 4 in the Center of Exhibitions and Conventions of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
