Isla Mujeres hotels report 100 percent occupancy at the end of the third week of this month, with guests staying an average of 1.5 nights on the island and three nights on the mainland.

“January has been a great month for tourism in Isla Mujeres, unlike other years that start very low, but rising in February,” said Mayor Agapito Magaña Sánchez.

Six thousand tourists visit the island every day. Many of them arrive from Florida by yacht. The Office Convention and Visitors is credited for globally promoting the island’s beauty.
