Mérida, Yucatán — Interviews are being scheduled for Mexican nationals wishing to qualify for the U.S. Global Entry program.

For the second time, the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco Servytur) will host the risk-assessment meetings.

Interviews to apply for the program, popular with frequent travelers, are often difficult to get.

The Global Entry program allows fast access past Customs and Border Protection officials at the airport.

This U.S. government program is promoted by the United States Consulate General in coordination with the Business Coordinating Council (CCE).

Applicants go through an exhaustive background check. Travelers won’t be approved if they:

  • Provide false or incomplete information on the application;
  • Have been convicted of any criminal offense or have pending criminal charges or outstanding warrants (to include driving under the influence);
  • Have been found in violation of any customs, immigration or agriculture regulations or laws in any country;
  • Are the subject of an ongoing investigation by any federal, state or local law enforcement agency;
  • Are inadmissible to the United States under immigration regulation, including applicants with approved waivers of inadmissibility or parole documentation; or
  • Cannot satisfy CBP of your low-risk status.

The interview is preceded by an online application process. To be vetted, contact desarrollocomercial@canacomerida.com or call 999-942-8850, extension 127.
