No new fatalities were reported today in Yucatan, after more than a week when as many as four coronavirus patients died in a 24-hour period. It was the first such day since April 20.
Additionally, 14 COVID-19 patients were declared recovered on Tuesday, 221 since the crisis began.
But another 25 confirmed cases, equal to the amount of new cases added Tuesday, were reported at the Health Ministry’s briefing. That brings to 411 the number of cases that have been confirmed in Yucatan since March 13. Of those, 65 are in the hospital, three fewer than Tuesday, and 93 are recovering at home, up 14.
Patients are as young as 3 and as old as 94.
The new infections included 14 in Mérida, three in Hunucmá, three in Valladolid, two in Kinchil, and one each in Tekantó, Temozón and Umán.
In Yucatan, 32 people have died from the virus since April 3.

In neighboring Quintana Roo, home of bustling Caribbean tourist hot spots such as Cancun and Playa del Carmen, the crisis is more dire.
In that state, 18 people died in the previous 24 hours, medical officials announced at a noon briefing. That brings their death toll to 109, with 711 positive cases and 135 people under hospital care due to the spread of the coronavirus. An estimated 362 people recovered from the disease.
Men outnumber women nearly two-to-one in infections. Benito Juárez is being hit hardest with 531 confirmed cases and 74 deaths.
