Dream job: Hacienda property managers wanted

For the right couple, an opportunity — and challenge — to live and work on a historic property

Here is an opportunity for a couple qualified to manage a luxury hacienda property outside Merida.

The property is a vacation rental for families and small groups and is often used as a wedding venue.

The property managers, ideally a couple, are responsible for overseeing and management of the house and garden staff, tours of the property, greeting guests and attending to their needs during their stay.

The hacienda is a venue-only property, so the guests are responsible for any event planning. The property manager won’t be involved with coordinating weddings or parties.

But the managers will be in charge of oversight of wedding preparations by vendors, breakdown and cleaning the day after.  

The hacienda has extensive gardens which require oversight and the manager will be directing crews to keep them maintained. So tropical garden/landscaping knowledge is a plus.

The job also includes management and maintenance of all house systems and equipment, and overseeing subcontractors as needed for larger and difficult projects.

The ideal candidates will have experience in hospitality, management and guest relations and will need to be fluent in Spanish and English. Catering/chef experience is a plus and additional compensation will be paid for these services.

Knowledge of MS Office and Cloud sharing services along with other basic computer usage is required.

The managers will be required to live on the property, in a very nice one-bedroom, fully furnished casita. Pets are OK, but the casita is not suitable for a family.
