Pop star Chayanne, who has filmed videos to promote Yucatan, returns to Merida with his Desde el Alma Tour.

The concert is set for Thursday, March 7 at the Coliseo Yucatan. Tickets went on sale today.

But fans got to see him for free a few years ago when he cruised down the Paseo de Montejo for a music video.

Chayanne’s return seems overdue. He’s been here at least twice since 2014 to promote Yucatan tourism. His last concert in Mérida was in November 2015.

This time, Chayanne has left no hints that he’s staying for any more video projects. His tour schedule will be keeping him busy across Mexico, and then the United States, including a stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Born Elmer Figueroa Arce, 40, the Puerto Rican Latin pop singer and actor has released 21 solo albums and sold over 15 million albums worldwide. He lives in Miami with his wife, former Venezuelan beauty queen Marilisa Maronese, and two children.
