Chablé Resort, a luxury enclave tucked away in the jungle 20 minutes southwest from Mérida’s city line, is opening a sister property on the shores of Riviera Maya.
Chablé Maroma is slated for a Sept. 10 opening, Travel Weekly reports.
An expansion of the original Chablé model, according to the Robb Report, the spa-resort will boast 70 secluded suites complete with private pools and surrounded by the region’s verdant jungle. Inside, the spacious villas feature a palette of neutral tones, warm woods, and open glass walls.
The resort itself, in Solidaridad, near Playa del Carmen, will have a 17,000-square-foot spa with eight massage rooms, a hot tub and steam bath.
For dining, the resort will offer three restaurants, with Bu’ul as the signature dining venue and featuring Mexican cuisine. Raw Bar will have clams, oysters and prawns while Kaban will be a casual poolside restaurant.
The beach will be a stretch of 650 feet of sand, with an oceanside yoga pavilion, swimming pool, fitness center and VIP cabanas.
The original Chablé Resort & Spa, a 750-acre luxury compound that opened in 2016, broke with traditional hacienda design, but worked with local artisans to create high quality pieces and integrated ancient Mayan techniques to finish walls and floors, as well as to design spa treatments and to build the ka’anchés, a Mayan orchard.
Yucatán’s Chablé was voted best resort in the world by an international group of architects in 2017.
