Campeche sees 1st coronavirus death, a 49-year-old male

A 49-year-old man living in Ciudad de Carmen became Campeche state’s first COVID-19 fatality, according to the state health secretariat.

The unnamed victim had a history of travel to Villahermosa and Merida.

The death was reported Monday at dawn and was one of two cases that required hospitalization. The other patient is being treated in Campeche City.

Eight confirmed cases are registered in the state. Two have already recovered and six are in their homes under isolation.
