Writerday! for kids
Sat., July 4
An event every week that begins at 2:00 am on Saturday, repeating indefinitely
Writerday! is a new, free online group for kids ages 5–14 throughout the world who like to write.
It is being organized by Lyla Spath, a Merida Writers Group member and children’s writer, to encourage kids to write on a regular basis and interact with other young writers in a safe, supportive forum.
Each Saturday, Spath will announce a topic for kids to write about (maximum number of words ranging from 100–500, based on age group). Parents/guardians will send their child’s submission from their email to Spath’s email. Submission deadline will be every Friday, 4 p.m. CST.
On Saturday, Spath will post all submissions with the child’s first name, age, and country of residence to a Fb closed group Writerday! page open only to writers, their parents, and those parents/guardians invite. Every participant (adults and kids) must agree to basic standards, including no bullying. No one will be able to contact participating children or their parents directly. For more information, contact email@example.com. Put the word Writerday! in the subject line.
NOTE: Costs are in pesos. Events are occasionally postponed or canceled, or a listing could contain an error, so confirm with the organizer when possible.
