MEL Lecture Series: The Mexican constitution

Sat., February 4, 2017 @ 11:30 am

Free

The Merida English Library’s Saturday Lecture Series continues with “George Ashley: The Mexican Constitution.”

Adopted on February 5, 1917 at a Constitutional Congress in Querétaro during the Mexican Revolution, this year the document celebrates its 100th anniversary.

At the time it was a truly innovative document that established the foundation for a radical transformation of Mexico in the 10th century and may have inspired new national constitutions in other countries.

Monday, Feb. 6 is Constitution Day, a federal holiday.

The lecture is free and open to the public in the MEL Garden.

Entire lecture series here.
