When newspaper photographers aren’t snapping pictures of car accidents and ribbon cuttings, they often enjoy a more artistic approach to their craft.
Images of the Yucatecan coast, beaches, sunrises and sunsets; of archaeological zones; of regional customs and traditions — all are seen through the lens of several local photojournalists in an exhibit called “Instantes.”
The exhibition comprises 120 images taken by photographers at Diario de Yucatán, the broadsheet newspaper based in Mérida.
Adriana Carrillo Alemán, Valerio Caamal Balam, Carlos de la Cruz Montes de Oca, José Avila Perera, Fidel Interián Jiménez, Fernando Acosta Yam, Emmanuel Rincon Becerra and Ramón Celis Perera are the photographers featured in the show.
The exhibition will be at the Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport, starting with a reception 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, in the corridors of the terminal’s top floor.
