Yucatan health officials on Sunday reported 193 new coronavirus cases and 20 deaths — 15 men and five women — in the past 24 hours.

Another 133 patients recovered from the virus, maintaining Yucatan’s 77% recovery rate. Still, the number of infections since the crisis began has totaled 7,358 and deaths have reached 817.

More than 850 patients were under a doctor’s care Sunday. Hospitalizations, which apply to more than half the current cases, were up by 17.

The deceased ranged in age from 40 to 93 years and generally had hypertension, diabetes, obesity, liver failure and heart disease as factors complicating their recovery.
