Chelem, Yucatán — Promoting citizen participation and conservation activities in the community, “¡Yo limpio Chelem!” will be held Sunday. Sept. 17 in the ecological reserve.
Called “I Clean Chelem!” in English, the activity will begin 9 a.m. in the main park and head south toward the estuary.
A tourist hostel and its surroundings will be the focus of the volunteer effort.
Dump trucks will haul away garbage collected by the community, said Commissioner Angela Lilian Manzanilla Canto.
