Progreso, Yucatán — The Pullmantur line is calling this port “home” this summer, after the  “Desire Cruise 2015” arrives June 11.

This stop will be at the finale of a first-time cruise tour aimed at the LGBT market, says Diario de Yucatán.

The Spanish Pullmantur line will set sail June 5 for Panama, Cartagena, Colombia, Grand Cayman; Cozumel and then Progreso, its home port.

For the rest of the summer, the Monarch is selling briskly, mainly to the mainstream Mexican travel market, according to El Financiero. Menu options will cater to local tastes: chilaquiles, refried beans, salsas, among other traditional dishes of the country will be prepared by three Mexican chefs, according to Pullmantur.

The Monarch, at 268 meters in length, is capable of carrying 2,752 passengers. It features a theater, gym, basketball court, cafeteria, jacuzzi, duty free shops and casino.

The Monarch boat was completely renovated in 2012 to suit the tastes and needs of Latin American passengers, said the company.
