Restoration work at the Casa de Montejo (earlier story here), which began in February, is at the halfway point. Scaffolding south of the Plaza Grande allows workers to get up close, repairing and cleaning the prominent building’s façade. Wires and cables will be removed, as well, so its ornate fittings will look their best.
The work will be completed in two months if all goes well.
Casa de Montejo dates from 1549 and is owned by Banamex.
