Every Sunday, selected Mérida streets are closed to cars and trucks, giving way to bicycles.
It’s the city’s way of encouraging healthy habits, and the citizens have embraced it as something to do as a family.
Even if you don’t bike, it’s quite a sight to behold for pedestrians taking a Sunday stroll along the Paseo de Montejo. Participants can participate in activities including health education programs, music and dancing, art classes and games. More information, including maps, here.
