Mérida, Yucatán — An economist told students yesterday that Mexico is a fertile country for 2015 stock investments because of structural reforms, and called on entrepreneurs to invest in Yucatán.

Speaking at the Congreso del IMEF Universitario, Roberto Ruarte Villaverde said that imbalances caused by reforms will be normalized, paving the way for a healthy investment climate.

Before an audience of 800 undergraduates at the sixteenth national congress of the IMEF, the analyst cautioned that timing is crucial.

“This is because usually when in the market there is very good news, it’s time to sell, when the news is bad is the time to buy, but in general, in the long term the market always recovers and makes very good returns. In the case of Mexico … we believe there will be significant opportunities,” he said, quoted in Sipse.
